Model of the USS John W Weeks was donated to the association by Eric Perryman.

My Dad served in the Navy during World War 2, his name is Howard Lyndon Perryman.  For some people he went by Howard and for others he went by Lyndon, I am not sure which he used when he was on board the Weeks.  I believe he was onboard the Weeks from its commissioning until the ship return to the east coast in early 1946.  My Dad was a Radioman and I am not sure what rank he reached before leaving active duty in 1946.  The model was built by a Mare Island Naval Shipyard model builder in 1984.  I do not remember the model builder’s name, but I will reach out to some of the guys I worked with in the Navy that might remember the builders name.   Eric Perryman

Launch of the New USS John W Weeks Website, March 21, 2011

Welcome to our new website, we first launched our website in October 2000, over ten years ago. Over the years we made minor changes and fixes to it to keep up with the growth of our Association and because of these add on, etc. the site became difficult to use, find things and update. Also, it lacked many of the new web standards. This time we took a bold step and completely redesigned it from scratch. The task took over six months, with many long nights over coming technical issues. Our new website has new features and incorporates new web standards. Use it and let us know what you think!

For Best Viewing

This website was designed to operate with the newer browsers; for example, IE7, IE8, Safari and Firefox. If you are using IE6 I would recommend upgrading your browser to a newer version.  Internet Explorer (IE6) has a lot of problems,; therefore, we do not recommend using it to view this website. Finally, the Flash media (changing pictures at the top of website) in website works best when the browser  zoom control is set at 100%.
