I
joined the Navy in 1968. Boot camp was at the Great Lakes training center. I
was assigned to the Weeks along with my twin brother Jim in July 1968. The
ship was still in dry dock . It was pretty messy. When we got out of dry dock
we had sea trials for our assignment to Vietnam. The ship and crew and trained
in Cuba before we left for Vietnam. Returning from Vietnam we became a reserve
tin can in New London Connecticut where I was honorably discharged in May 1970.
I returned to my home in Philadelphia, PA . I started to work as a design draftsman where
I met my wife Ginny. We were married in 1972. I started night school at
Villanova University and then transferred to West Chester university where I
received my bachelors degree in finance. I worked in a public accounting firm
for two years and eventually was hired as a staff accountant at a Driveshaft
automotive company Neapco. I eventually became the Chief Financial Officer
of the company. We have two beautiful and caring daughters and four
amazing grandchildren two boys and two girls. I retired in 2012 . We love to
travel and are enjoying our retirement.
